The \u201cK\u201d instead of \u201cB\u201d for black is a hold-over from printing press times, when it was referred to as the \u201dkey\u201d plate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>CMYK is used for traditional print methods \u2013 the colors are generated through a subtractive method from white light. Most commercial printers do not use white ink.
