  • Protect Minors: <\/strong>If a business knows a consumer is under 18, they can\u2019t sell their data for targeted advertising.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Clear Privacy Notices: <\/strong>They must provide clear and accessible privacy notices to you.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • No Discrimination: <\/strong>They can\u2019t use your data in a way that leads to discrimination or denies you access to goods or services.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    What Rights Do Consumers Have?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Under MODPA, your consumers have several rights, including the ability to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    • Correct any inaccurate data.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Delete your data if you wish.<\/li>\n\n\n\n

      Businesses must respond to requests within 45 days and can get an extension if needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      How Is MODPA Enforced?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

      Maryland\u2019s Division of Consumer Protection will oversee enforcement. If a business isn’t following the rules, they\u2019ll get a notice and have at least 60 days to fix the problem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
